Circus Circus Las Vegas

Jay Sarno opened Circus Circus as a circus-themed Las Vegas casino without a hotel. Circus acts were part of the casino's early identity.

A hotel was added in 1972. The property's first phase was a casino with performances; the hotel came later, turning that casino-only beginning into a resort. This sequence is the central change in its early history.
