Vegas Retold

Las Vegas is easy to look at. Harder to read.

Vegas Retold explores Las Vegas history through its people, places, objects and evidence—showing what changed, what remains, and what the record cannot settle.

Start with a Story

Every Story should be worthwhile on its own. You can read from anywhere, follow a connection into the city when it is useful, or stop satisfied. There is no required route and no need to pretend every trace of the past is still visible.

Who stands behind the work

Vegas Retold is owned by James Hogg and Piers Rollinson. James is editor-in-chief and owns editorial selection, interpretation, and final manuscript judgment. Piers leads product, operations, and release composition. Named researchers, reviewers, photographers, narrators, and rights contributors are credited where their work appears.

The city as evidence

We distinguish documented fact, attributed recollection, dispute, interpretation, and the unknown. Visit How we know for the working standard or suggest a correction or source when the record deserves another look.
