A brief history of La Mirage Casino

Historical image unavailable.

La Mirage was an earlier casino name at the hotel premises at 377 East Flamingo Road. UNLV’s collection history places it after the Ambassador Casino, which closed in 1982, and before the later Key Largo Hotel and Casino.

Its history belongs to the smaller casinos east of the Strip. Following the names attached to this one address helps separate a continuing set of premises from the businesses that occupied it. La Mirage here does not refer to Steve Wynn’s much larger Mirage resort on Las Vegas Boulevard.
