Golden Goose was one of the smaller casino names on Fremont Street. Its history is documented separately from its better-known neighbors: UNLV’s regional history collection includes a dedicated Golden Goose file, while historic streetscape photographs preserve its distinctive sign.
The separate name matters when reading old photographs of western Fremont Street. Golden Goose and Glitter Gulch signage appear in the same streetscape, but sharing a photograph does not make the businesses identical. Keeping the casino record separate makes those layers of the downtown landscape easier to recognize.

UNLV Special Collections — Golden Goose regional history file, MS-00547
Golden Goose, 1991 to 1992, in the UNLV Libraries Collection of Regional History Files. File dates are material dates, not operating dates. Checked October 31, 2026.
UNLV’s file dates of 1991–1992 describe archival material, not the casino’s opening and closing dates.
The sign could remain after a business changed; a dated photograph alone does not establish continuous casino operation.
